Asia Cup 2025 Matches Start Time Moved Up, Games To Start 30 Minutes Earlier Now

Asia Cup 2025 is set to kick off on September 8 with the opener between Sri Lanka and UAE but now, cricket fans will have to tune in a little earlier than expected. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced that all the matches of the Asia Cup will now start at 8 PM IST instead of the previously scheduled 30 minutes later. The decision was taken on August 30, giving fans only a week's notice.

This means that instead of having to wait until 9 PM IST for the action to begin, cricket enthusiasts across India and the subcontinent will have to set their clocks and alarms, or reminders, for the latest edition of the continental tournament to start batting and bowling at 8 PM IST.

The change, though last-minute, will hopefully help make way for a memorable tournament and allow those with school or work the following day to get a little more sleep, although that is dependent on which team is playing and how many sixes are hit, as we all know, cricket is a game of surprises!

With the T20 World Cup set to begin a month later, this development can also act as a primer for fans, providing them with a taste of continental cricket before the bigger show kicks off in Australia.

The last Asia Cup was held in Bangladesh in 2022, with India claiming the title for the fourth time after defeating Pakistan in the final. This year's tournament will be held in the UAE.

Stay tuned for more updates as we bring you all the action from the Asia Cup 2025.
