Hyderabad Traffic Police have launched public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about the new traffic rules that are soon to be implemented. Additional Commissioner of Traffic Police Anil Kumar explained that the new Motor Vehicle Act, which has introduced hefty fines for rule-breakers, will ultimately benefit society. While some people are concerned about the penalties, Kumar argued that the new rules will encourage better traffic behavior, as he's already seen an improvement since the enactment of the laws. The department is awaiting orders from the State Transport Department to officially implement the new MV Act.
Meetings are being held with commercial vehicles' drivers and the general public to explain the new regulations. The police have also put up posters highlighting the new act's provisions at major locations in the city.
Kumar noted that there has already been a positive change in people's behavior, with fewer violations even before the rules have come into effect. He believes that with time, people will become more accustomed to the new regulations and embrace them.
