Isack Hadjar had a day to remember at Zandvoort, claiming his first F1 podium after an impressive drive behind Max Verstappen. But sadly for the French driver, the excitement of the day may have gotten to him a bit too much, as he proceeded to drop the trophy he was awarded with straight onto the floor shortly after receiving it.
The aptly named French driver had qualified a surprising third for the Dutch GP, beating favourite Lewis Hamilton for P2 behind championship leader Max Verstappen.
And he managed to hold onto that podium position despite intense pressure from behind, even leading briefly during the safety car period.
The podium was the first for Hadjar, and the rookie's emotions got the best of him as he embraced a relieved celebration before accidentally dropping the trophy, which promptly fell apart on the stage.
The Zandvoort crowd roared with laughter as the Buggyra owner briefly turned around with a grin before collecting the broken pieces together.
It was a milestone day in Hadjar's career, and despite the funny end to the proceedings, the 24-year-old will surely look back on the Dutch GP as the day his F1 career turned a new page.
There has been no word yet on whether the French driver will get a replacement trophy.
