A 25-year-old student from Anantapur district has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody for stalking a 34-year-old professor at the Ramanaidu Film School in Filmnagar, Hyderabad. Bharat Reddy, the suspect, began professing love to the professor and proposing marriage when he joined the direction course at the film school last August. However, the stalker began harassing the professor online, tracking her movements through social media and turning up at places she visited.

The professors inability to move on with her life, fearing the stalkers presence at work and elsewhere, eventually led her to approach the Filmnagar police. They arrested Reddy and produced him in court, booking a case of stalking.
