Railway stations across India have increased security measures after the alarming rise in terrorist activities. After the shocking Pahalgam attack, a security drill was conducted at the Nellore railway station to check for vulnerabilities.

Six teams were formed to inspect stations in Gudur, Nellore, Kavali, Vongole, and Chirala. The stations were inspected along with their surrounding areas including hotels, lodges, and bus stands. The police force was helped by the dog squad and the BD team who were involved in the successful drill.

This comes just after a mock drill was conducted at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) by Central Railway in coordination with multiple security agencies. The primary objectives of the drill were to test the effectiveness of the warning systems and to evaluate the preparedness of the evacuation plans in case of a hostile attack.

Despite heightened alerts, Railway DSP Muralidhar stated that the drill was merely a precautionary measure and that the police were always on alert.
