Not Every Government Student Should Be Left Behind

In an unprecedented move to support government school students, the Energy Minister of Andhra Pradesh, India, Mr. Gottipati Ravikumar, pledged to provide free bicycles to every high school student in the Addanki constituency. This comes as part of a broader initiative supported by corporate social responsibility funds from entities such as ASSIST and Megha.

So far, over 3,000 bicycles have been distributed among students in government schools across the region. Speaking at the handout ceremony of 316 bicycles to students at the GHS in J Panguluru, the minister stated that the initiative aims to improve infrastructure for students and boost their academic performance on par with students in corporate schools.

The Vidyonnati Foundation, Ongole, also collaborated with the government to distribute scholarships worth 3 lakh to 30 students who excelled in their academic lives despite hardships.

As part of the campaign to support government school students, the minister also distributed NTR Bharosa pensions to beneficiaries at their doorsteps in J Panguluru village. In addition, many beneficiaries received cheques from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) and letters of credit (LOCs). So far, 1,027 persons have received CMRF support, and 132 were presented with LOCs.

The minister expressed gratitude to the supporting entities and praised the government's commitment to providing necessary infrastructure for students, enabling them to thrive and succeed.

"We want to ensure that no student is left behind, regardless of their economic status or the type of school they attend. With these initiatives and support from our partners, we strive to empower students to achieve their full potential and emerge as leaders of tomorrow."
