Former Vice-President stressed the need for communal Ganesh festivals to promote patriotism and devotion

Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, the former Vice-President of India, stressed the need to hold Ganesh festivals in a community setting, regardless of cast or creed, in order to foster patriotism and devotion in the population. He recalled that Balagangadhar Tilak first introduced the concept of community-wide festivities with the specific intention of fostering unity among the people, and this notion ultimately enjoyed widespread acclaim, not just in India but also abroad.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu expressed admiration for Tilak's initiative in promoting unity and social cohesion through the celebration of Ganesh festivals, which he observed now extend across countries worldwide. He noted that, previously, such celebrations were intimate affairs held within the home among family members only.

The TDP MLAs, RTC and Nuda Chairmans, and BJP state vice president P Surendra Reddy were present at the event.
