Cyberabad Police Report 12% Reduction in Overall Crime in 2022

Cyberabad, a commissionarate in Telangana, India, has seen a remarkable 12% reduction in overall crime in 2022 compared to 2021, according to Commissioner of Police Stephen Raveendra. This impressive milestone was achieved through proactive law enforcement, improved public safety, and boosting crime prevention strategies.

Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Raveendra detailed the initiatives undertaken by the Cyberabad Police, which covers IT industries, a financial hub, and a health hub. He highlighted the Dial 100 calls, which increased by 49%, reflecting the growing confidence the public has in the police's ability to assist them. Property crimes decreased by 28%, with detection and recovery rates respectively increasing by 14.6% and 10.2%. Remarkably, rape cases declined by 12.2%, while cheating cases increased by 14.99% and domestic violence cases increased by 34.9%.

Mr. Raveendra expressed optimism about the future, citing the new Telangana State Police Centre of Excellence for Cyber Safety, which will work towards preventing cyber crimes, which increased by 25.84% in 2022. He attributed the decline in crime to the leadership of the Telangana state government, which has prioritized the police and provided adequate resources. With these factors in place, Mr. Raveendra is confident that the Cyberabad commissionarate will continue to see improvements in maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and ensuring public safety in the years to come.
