CSK pacer Mukesh Choudhary, who shared the new ball with him in the last two games, heaped praise on captain Rohit Sharma, saying he wants the veteran opener to play for at least another ten years.
"I have never faced so much talent and calmness at the same time," Choudhary said about Rohit, who is currently the vice-captain of the Indian limited-overs team.
"The way he conducts himself both on and off the field, I have never seen someone so calm. He is such a relaxed person, and when you are relaxed, you hardly ever make mistakes. I personally want him to play for another 10 years," he added.
The 38-year-old Rohit, who retired from Test cricket in 2022 and from T20I cricket after the World Cup earlier this year, technically only plays ODI cricket for India now.
However, Choudhary, a CSK rookie, admitted he has learned a lot by bowling to Rohit in the nets and watching him closely during matches.
"I have learned how to relax when the situation is tough. When you are relaxed, you can think more clearly at critical moments," the 22-year-old said.
"I have never seen him angry or lose his temper. And when you are not angry, you can think better," he added, highlighting a crucial aspect of Rohit's personality that has helped his successful cricket career.
Rohit, who struck a brilliant century (unbeaten 111) in India's successful chase of 290 on Tuesday, will look to continue his impressive form in the upcoming games as well.
