Ponguru Narayana says Govt spends Rs 34,000 crore on pensions

Pension beneficiaries to get Rs 130 cr in Nellore district alone, says Minister Narayana, distributing NTR Bharosa pensions in Nellore.

Ponguru Narayana, the Minister for Municipal Administration, has reportedly said that the government spends Rs 340,000 crore per year on pensions, benefiting 67 lakh people across the state. While speaking at an event to distribute NTR Bharosa pensions to beneficiaries in Nellore city, Narayana praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his efforts to fulfill election promises, despite the state's financial difficulties.

Naidu has ensured that NTR Bharosa pensions are distributed promptly on the first of each month since coming into power in 2024, with the Chief Minister himself participating in the distribution at a village level.

Narayana also addressed plans for developing local infrastructure, mentioning a forthcoming park with a community hall featuring 18 different facilities to accommodate residents' needs.

The Minister then inspected ongoing works to construct a smart street bazaar and develop the city park.

His colleagues, including Deputy Mayor P Roop Kumar Yadav, NMC Commissioner YO Nandan, former ZPTC Vijetha Reddy, and TDP's Nellore city president M Madhu, joined him.
