After years of walking to school, government high school students in the Addanki constituency will now be provided with free bicycles, thanks to the efforts of Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar.
So far, over 3,000 bicycles have been distributed across various government schools in the region. Speaking at the handover ceremony, the minister boasted of the program's success, stating that it has been running for several years with CSR funds from partnerships with ASSIST and Megha, among others.
Ravikumar expressed his gratitude towards such corporations for their support, and reiterated the government's commitment to providing necessary infrastructure for students.
He expressed the hope that government school students will now be able to compete on par with their corporate school counterparts.
At the GHS in J Panguluru, where the event took place, the minister also distributed NTR Bharosa pensions to beneficiaries at their doorsteps and handed over cheques from the CMs relief fund to 41 beneficiaries from J Panguluru mandal.
According to the minister, thus far, a total of 1,027 persons have received CMRF support, with 132 beneficiaries issued with letters of credit (LOCs).
Let's hope this initiative inspires students to pedal their way to success!
