The War Against Drugs: Hyderabad Police's Latest Initiative

Hyderabad, an Indian city in Telangana, is taking action to combat drug abuse with a new awareness campaign launched by the North Zone Police in collaboration with the Fisheries and Cinematography Minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav. The initiative aims to sensitize the youth against drug use and encourage them to participate in the campaign.

Speaking at the event, Srinivas Yadav emphasized the importance of incorporating substance abuse prevention into academic curricula and raising public awareness to tackle the growing problem of addiction. He also highlighted the success of Hyderabad Police in making significant arrests and urged the public to inform the police about any drug-related activities.

The City Police Commissioner, CV Anand, discussed the multi-faceted approach to combat the drugs menace. Anand announced that the department is implementing both awareness programs and strict enforcement through the H-NEW wing, Telangana's first such initiative.

Anand identified hotspots where active intervention is taking place and urged the youth to spread the message to Say No to Drugs. He emphasized that drugs lead to a devastating lifestyle that leaves careers, families, and healthy choices behind. The event concluded with the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police urging the youth to take an active role in the fight against drug abuse.
