In a recent move to suppress anti-social activities, the police administration has initiated stern action by imposing the Preventive Detection (PD) Act on rowdy sheeter Sheikh Tanvir from Nellore City. This is the first time such measures have been taken in many years against anti-social elements.
According to the rules and regulations, the PD Act is proposed to be imposed on the individual for repeated involvement in anti-social activities that disrupt Law & Order problems. During Cardon & Search operations, police identified around 500 rowdy sheeters across the district.
Sheikh Tanvir, aged 27 and from Jagananna Colony, has prior rowdy sheets opened against him in Vedayapalem police station. Eleven cases, including one attempt to murder, three robberies, and one theft case, have been registered against him in the city.
Superintendent of Police G Krishnakanth warned of stringent action against those responsible for repeated crime involvement. He advised rowdy sheeters to change their attitudes, as imposition of the PD Act would result in time behind bars.
Let's see what effect this move will have on the local community and if other anti-social individuals think twice before breaking the law.
