In Nellore, leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) paid floral tributes to former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on the anniversary of his death on Tuesday.

Speaking at the event, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, YSRCP district president, praised Rajasekhara Reddy's welfare-oriented administration and highlighted his contributions to Andhra Pradesh's development.

Govardhan Reddy said the late leader initiated several major development projects in Nellore district, including the Sangam and Kandaleru barrages and the Krishnapatnam Port.

He also credited Rajasekhara Reddy with implementing welfare schemes such as Aarogyasri, fee reimbursement, Jalayagnam, and industrial SEZs, which, he said, had put the state on the path of progress.

MLC Parvatha Reddy Chandrasekhar Reddy said Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had brought nationwide recognition to Andhra Pradesh through his reforms in the education, healthcare, agriculture, and employment sectors.

The leader's welfare programs had benefited millions of people in the state, he said.

Tuesday's event coincided with the completion of one year of the YSRCP government's second term in office.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Manfredi Venkata Reddy, and others attended the ceremony.
