The party drug MDMA is becoming increasingly widespread and available in Kerala, India. This is evident based on the fact that special action forces in Kochi have apprehended three individuals in two separate cases within the same day. The increasing prevalence of this drug poses a serious concern for authorities, as it indicates a rising drug abuse trend that risks the well-being of individuals, especially the youth.

In the first case, 4.26 grams of MDMA were seized from a 24-year-old man near Palarivattom. A few hours later, a separate operation resulted in the seizure of 14.52 grams of MDMA from two individuals, aged 29 and 30, near Karuvelipady. The individuals were arrested and the drugs confiscated. These seizures and arrests were conducted by the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (Dansaf) team under the direction of Ernakulam city police commissioner Putta Vimaladitya.

The growing occurrence of MDMA seizures indicates the urgency of implementing preventive measures and raising awareness about the dangers of this drug. It's crucial for authorities to delve deeper into the sources and networks supplying these drugs, to effectively tackle the surge in their prevalence. Such actions are indispensable to safeguard individual well-being and strengthen the overall health of the society.
