India has resumed its status as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Solidarity, following the Indian Olympic Association's (IOA) ratification of key organisational reforms, including the appointment of a new CEO.

The decision was taken at the IOC Session in Cairo on Monday, marking the end of a lengthy conflict between the IOC and the IOA, which has seen India excluded from numerous Olympics, including the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The IOA's implementation of a new Constitution and the election of a new Executive Board, which included the appointment of professional sports administrator Raghuram Iyer as its new CEO, satisfied the IOC's demand for political reforms within the organisation.
