Y.S.R. REMEMBERED: DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF ANDHRA'S BELOVED LEADER

Nellore, Andhra Pradesh: On Tuesday, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's death anniversary, leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) gathered at his statue in Gandhi Bomma Centre to pay their respects. Rajasekhara Reddy, who served as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, was widely popular before his sudden death in a helicopter crash in 2009.

Kakani Govardhan Reddy, YSRCP's district president in Nellore, recalled the late leader's transformative impact on the state, particularly in his district. Reddy credited Rajasekhara Reddy for initiating ambitious development projects and delivering progressive policies like Aarogyasri, fee reimbursement, and industrial zones.

He also highlighted the former chief minister's initiatives to tackle hydrological issues in the district with the Sangam and Kandaleru barrages and the development of the Krishnapatnam port.

MLC Parvatha Reddy Chandrasekhar Reddy asserted Rajasekhara Reddy brought Andhra Pradesh to the nation's attention with his reforms in education, healthcare, agriculture, and employment. He also noted the late leader's contribution to establishing prominent educational institutions like the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nellore.

Chandrasekhar Reddy further praised Rajasekhara Reddy's welfare initiatives and humanitarian approach to governance, particularly during times of crisis, reflecting a commitment to the wellbeing of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The gathering called for continuing the former chief minister's legacy of progressive and compassionate governance. YSRCP leaders believe Rajasekhara Reddy's ideals and vision will continue to inspire future generations of leaders.
