Following the Pahalgam attack that killed 26, security drills are conducted at railway stations in Andhra Pradesh. The checks are done at stations in Gudur, Nellore, Kavali, Vongole, and Chirala with the support of the dog squad, BD team, and Santhapeta police. The move is a precautionary measure to ensure safety is prioritized while counter-terrorism units are on the lookout for the terrorists responsible for the attack.

Recently, a similar mock drill was conducted at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) involving the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), Maharashtra Security Force (MSF), and Home Guards to reinforce security preparedness in the region. The drill tested the effectiveness of their systems in place and the response of civil defense services.

Following the attack, the Indian government has promised to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
