Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister Mekapati Goutam Reddy visited Veerlagudipadu village, Nellore Sangam mandal, on Saturday amid severe flooding from the Penna River.
Reddy toured the impacted areas by boat to better understand the situation and listen to local villagers' pain points.
The Minister pledged to construct a bridge in the village and reviewed the food and other resources allocated to support villagers.
Noting the river's excessive water flow, Reddy stated that such heights had not been recorded since 1995.
Officials informed the Minister that the current crisis resulted from the convergence of Pincha, Cheyyeru, and Swarnamukhi rivers into the Penna, flooding millions of cusecs.
Reddy directed officials to expedite aid delivery and promised village house pattas to each resident.
The Minister's review focused on ensuring timely and adequate relief reaches the flood-affected areas.
