RajCop Citizen Makes Reporting Crime as Easy as Sending a Text

Rajasthan, notorious for its high crime rate, has harnessed the power of technology to tackle the issue with its upgraded RajCop Citizen mobile application. This Android-based tool enables users to seek police assistance with a single touch and verify the credentials of domestic help. Users can also access details of vehicle owners in case of theft and quickly report any emergencies using the app. The state, known for its high crimes against women, reports the third highest number of cases nationwide according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCBR) data. Rajasthan Minister of State for Home Gulabchand Kataria and ADG (SCRB) Kapil Garg hope the app will help alleviate the issue.

Why this Matters:

The launch of the RajCop Citizen application is a poignant reminder of the role technology plays in enhancing citizen connectivity to authority figures and fostering a safer society. By enabling quick and efficient crime reporting and providing access to essential services, the app empowers individuals to actively participate in maintaining law and order in their environment.
