As the final day of Ganesh idol immersion approaches, Hyderabad police have outlined extensive security measures to ensure a safe and smooth procession. Approximately 30,000 police personnel will be deployed along the nearly 19km route from Balapur Ganesh mandapam to Necklace Road.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand highlighted safety concerns and emphasized strict instructions for pandal organizers to take precautionary measures to prevent electrocution, especially during rains. The authorities will implement Quick Response Teams, Dog Squads, Anti-Chain Snatching Teams, and She Teams to respond to any situations that may arise.
In a joint inspection conducted on Wednesday, Mr. Anand and other senior officers reviewed key points along the immersion route, including Chandrayangutta, Charminar, MJ Market, and the Telugu Talli flyover. The commissioner urged organizers to begin the immersion process early to reduce delays, and noted that central forces had arrived in the city and were coordinating with local police.
With senior officials stationed at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Banjara Hills, the immersion process is expected to take around 40 hours. Authorities urge the public to cooperate with the police and ensure a safe and peaceful ending to the celebration.
