Two young stars, one women's match to relish and one men's match to endure as the US Open quarter-finals now are booked with Anisimova, Swiatek, Auger, and Aliassime marching on!

The 19-year-old Anisimova, who is seeded 26th, will face the veteran Estonian Kaia Kanepi for a place in her first major final. Kanepi, 37, advanced when her opponent Daria Kasatkina retired while down 7-6, 6-2.
In the men's draw, another young gun Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to the semi-finals of the U.S. Open for the first time after a marathon match against Australian Alex de Minaur.
Auger-Aliassime, who is Canadian, beat de Minaur, Australian, 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 4-6, 6-3 in three hours and 47 minutes. The score indicates a seesaw battle with sets and games going back and forth.
