The Hyderabad City Police recently organized "Run for Action-2025" at People's Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. The event coincided with International Women's Day. Hyderabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand told ANI that over 5,000 students participated in the event, which included 5k and 2k runs.
The event aimed to accelerate action on women's safety and women's empowerment. Speaking to ANI, Anand said, "Today, International Women's Day is celebrated all over the world, and the theme is Run for Action and accelerate action on women's safety and women empowerment."
The Central Railways also celebrated International Women's Day by operating a Vande Bharat Express with an all-women crew for the first time. The Vande Bharat Express, which originated from CSMT to Shirdi, had an all-women crew, including the loco pilot, assistant loco pilot, train manager, TCs, and train Hostesses.
Loco Pilot Mail, Central Railway Mumbai, Surekha Shankar Yadav expressed her joy, affirming, "I am happy that I got an opportunity to be a part of this team. I wish all women a Happy Women's Day."
Shweta Ghone, Central Railway Passenger Train Manager, echoed similar sentiments, stating, "When a woman becomes capable, she can make her entire family capable. If every woman becomes capable, then how can our country not progress?"
The event is part of a growing international movement to empower and protect women, emphasizing their rights and visibility.
