A special court in Palampur has convicted a Kangra man for nine months in prison and a Rs 30,000 fine for drug trafficking charges.

Sunil Katoch, alias Lucky, from Rit village in Jaisinghpur tehsil, was found with 130 gms of charas in his vehicle. A case was registered by Police Station Bhavarna on March 4, 2021, after police conducted a routine check and recovered the drugs.

Prosecution stated that the police recognized the Alto car by temporary registration number HP 2021-T/R-4983B and confiscated the drugs. The court acknowledged the role of witnesses in identifying the accused and stated that Lucky was guilty of the crime.
