AI to aid voters with online smart voting system

The Hexagon Capability Center India (HCCI) will launch an AI community centre in Hyderabad, India, next year in collaboration with Nasscom. The centre will educate around 350 students in multiple batches each year on AI topics from a secondary-school level. Currently, HCCI has 1,400 employees, which will increase to 1,500 by the end of this year, according to Navaneet Mishra, Vice-President and Country Manager of HCCI.

The centre will focus on developing an AI initiative that is community-based. Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan stated that 2020 will be celebrated as the 'Year of AI' in Telangana. He continued by saying that the centre will be a great event to occur as part of the year-long programme and will focus on smart voting systems using blockchain technology that allows voters to vote online.
