Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal reviewed the public grievance redressal system of Delhi Police, directing them to improve public interface by training officers in soft skills.
Police made a presentation to the LG, informing them that written and online complaints are received through various sources. It was noted that all written complaints, received at the headquarters and district level from individuals and authorities, are entered into a digitized Complaints Monitoring and Tracking System (CMTS) module.
Public facilitation desks have also been set up in police stations to listen to grievances and guide complainants to appropriate officers. Specialized vigilance units exist at the district level to handle complaints against police personnel.
Various helpline numbers, PCR-100, Women and Child Safety-1091 and 1096, and Senior Citizen Helpline-1291, are available 24/7 to respond to any calls.
The LG instructed Delhi Police to improve its public interface, ordering the implementation of training in soft skills for all officers.
