Hyderabad rave party busted, 6 held with drugs

Drugs ranging from cocaine to ecstasy have hit the streets of Hyderabad, India, and the elite anti-narcotics unit, Eagle, has stepped in to clean up.

A rave party hosted at Rajeshwari Nilayam service apartment on the outskirts of Hyderabad was busted on Monday. The party was raided by Cyberabad Police, with assistance from Telangana's elite anti-narcotics unit, Eagle. The operation resulted in the arrest of 6 individuals, consisting of businessmen, a homemaker, a software engineer, and an engineering student.

Madhapur DCP G. Vineeth confirmed the arrest of two peddlers, a transporter, and three consumers. The party's mastermind, 28-year-old Teja, described as a cloud kitchen business owner, was among those detained. Teja sourced cocaine from Rahul, a Bengaluru-based supplier who is now absconding. Others apprehended included Vikram, a poultry farm businessman who was accused of peddling. Homemaker Neelima, wine shop owner Prashanth Reddy, and Bhargav, a 31-year-old software engineer, were also arrested. The remaining detainee, Chandan, a 20-year-old engineering student, acted as the transporter.

Police stated that Teja had procured cocaine disguised as skin care injections and had them delivered by courier in Rajahmundry. The drugs were subsequently circulated at parties in Hyderabad, farmhouses, and even in Goa. It is believed that Teja and Neelima were habitual users, with the former testing positive for five drugs and the latter consuming three types of narcotics.

The raid was part of an intensified drive to curb rave parties and drug trafficking in the region. Officers are currently searching for supplier Rahul.
