Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, on the occasion of Teacher's Day, expressed gratitude to three teachers who he said have greatly contributed to his success. On Twitter, Tendulkar acknowledged his father, brother, and childhood coach as his teachers.

"Happy Teachers Day to all the teachers and mentors out there. Thank you for your contributions in shaping lives of so many talented young minds. Your dedication and commitment to the profession are truly inspiring.

"My father, who inspired me to always strive for excellence; my brother, who would always push me to do better and ask questions about my game and technique; and my childhood coach, who would turn me into a batsman, then a opener, then a middle order batsman, then a backfoot player and then a forward player," he wrote on Twitter.

Tendulkar's Teacher's Day wish was reciprocated by his fans, former teammates, and celebrities. "Thank you for everything you've taught us & given us over the years @sachin_rt," wrote Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane.

Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wrote: "Happy Teachers Day to your good self and all those who inspire & educate with such passion .. gratitude always."
