Hyderabad Police Host Run for Action-2025 on International Women's Day

The Hyderabad City Police organized "Run for Action-2025" at People's Plaza in Necklace Road, Hyderabad. The event witnessed over 5,000 participants to raise awareness for women's safety and empowerment.

The International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated globally on March 8 every year. The day marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. This day serves as a critical reminder for concerned citizens, organizations, and governments to accelerate women's empowerment.

CV Anand, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, expressed excitement at the event's turnout, stating that the theme for the event is "Run for Action and Accelerate Action on Women's Safety and Women's Empowerment."

To make the day more memorable, the Central Railways will operate a Vande Bharat Express with an all-women crew for the first time. The CR's Chief Public Relations Officer stated that they will also include women crew members on a goods train and would want to continue this initiative in other Vande Bharat trains as well.

Loco Pilot Mail, Central Railway Mumbai, Surekha Shankar Yadav, Train Manager, Shweta Ghone, and CSMT-Shirdi Train Hostess Rubina Begum expressed their joy and felt proud to be part of this initiative.

The day aims to celebrate the achievements of women while calling for Gender Equality. However, some critics believe that Gender Equality has remained elusive for many reasons, including gender stereotypes and cultural norms.

Still, events like "Run for Action-2025" bring the needed awareness to prioritize the safety and empowerment of women and girls. The event's excitement and joys expressed by the participants signify the need to accelerate such initiatives to achieve Gender Equality soon.
