Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel believes the Blues have a good chance of winning the English title despite tough competition from Manchester City and Liverpool, revealing that he gets a lot of good-natured jokes from English fans about Germany's own chances of winning the World Cup. Tuchel laughed off suggestions that Chelsea have an easy run-in ahead of their FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Andorra, laughing, "Yeah, everybody tells me that! I know that there are some different opinions and some different superstitions."
He added, "There are no easy games, and we'll need everybody involved to accomplish this task because we have some difficult away games: West Ham, Manchester United, and Everton, and then Everton away and Aston Villa at home, the last match of the season. So everybody laughs and makes jokes about this, but I think we have a good chance and good momentum, and we want to use that."
Despite Germany's disappointing performance in the last World Cup, Tuchel believes Die Mannschaft have a great chance this time around, saying, "I think we have a very good team together now, a good mix of experienced players and talented young players, and we have a good chance to be successful in the upcoming World Cup."
He concluded with a cheeky nod to the English, saying, "That's for sure, and I am also happy that we have a good chance in the Champions League, and we fight for that. And maybe that gives us a bit more time and focus on the task for the World Cup because, of course, we have a chance, but England has a chance, so does France."
Overall, Tuchel seems optimistic about Chelsea's chances at the end of the season and has a light-hearted approach to the tougher matches in both the club and the national team.
