Tracking Devices Become Tools of Stalking in Hyderabad

Hyderabad has recently seen an alarming rise in the use of tracking devices to facilitate stalking, with one woman falling victim to such disturbing behavior. Local police have begun cracking down on these incidents after a woman filed a report alleging that a man named Rupesh Raj was using a tracking device to stalk and harass her.

The woman, aged 35, stated that the trouble began when she started going to a gym in Old Alwal, and Rupesh, a nephew of one E.N. Ravi Kumar, began harassing her there. He began to behave inappropriately, touching her belongings without consent and making vulgar advances. Despite her repeated warnings, he continued his behavior and started following her to various places such as kitty parties, her colony, and even her daughter's school.

Ultimately, the woman found a tracking device with a SIM card hidden under her car, which had been installed by Rupesh's accomplice, Sai Sudharshan, who worked at the gym. The device was used to monitor her movements and take unauthorized photos of her, causing significant emotional distress. Moreover, she claims that Rupesh stalked her 12-year-old daughter and even performed vulgar acts in front of her.

Rupesh's uncle, Ravi Kumar, was also informed of his behavior but ignored the matter and secretly recorded the conversation. Police have since booked Rupesh Raj, Sai Sudharshan, and Ravi Kumar under sections 308, 78, and 351(2) of the BNS, as well as Section 66(E) of the IT Act, 2008.

This case marks a disturbing trend of tracking devices being used for malicious purposes and has sparked concern over women's safety and privacy in Hyderabad. With police taking these incidents seriously, let's hope that justice is served and such behavior is prevented in the future.

Furthermore, the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to address this emerging threat. Since this incident came to light, there has been a heightened awareness of the problem, and police are being more proactive in protecting victims of stalking in Hyderabad.
