Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 1 (ANI): Drug abuse is a multifaceted problem that requires a combined effort from all segments of society to mitigate. Recognizing this, 10-year-old Tanya Begum from Hyderabad has taken up the mantle of creating awareness about the detrimental effects of drugs and campaigning for a drug-free world.
Inspired by her father's participation in social awareness campaigns, Tanya, a fourth grader, decided to take up the fight against drug abuse at the age of five after learning about its detrimental effects on individuals and society as a whole. Disturbed by the growing number of young people getting addicted to drugs, ending up with ruined health and prospects, she decided to take action.
Tanya informs people about the dangers of drugs through campaigns and distributions of booklets highlighting the harmful effects on health. She has distributed over 35,000 booklets so far, and her determination has resulted in the closure of a liquor shop in front of her school. She has also initiated challenges on environmental and traffic safety issues.
India congratulates Tanya on her dedication to bringing awareness to these crucial issues. Many leaders have praised her efforts, and she has received letters of recognition from President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
Tanya's crusade against social issues such as drug abuse, the need to conserve water, and the protection of basic rights serves as an inspiration for us all. Through her tireless efforts, she exemplifies the potential of each individual to bring about meaningful change. Together, let's emulate Tanya's passion for social good and make a difference in our communities.
