Drug manufacturing ring smashed, Rs 12,000 cr worth of drugs recovered

Mira Road Police arrested 13 individuals in Telangana, shutting down a drug manufacturing factory worth Rs 12,000 crore. The drugs were allegedly being manufactured replicating the medication MD (Methyldopa).

According to reports, the police intercepted the drugs headed to various destinations across the country, including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Gujarat, and managed to seize a large haul of the contraband.

The police cracked this massive drug ring after receiving a tip-off about a group of individuals dealing in illegal drugs, leading to the surveillance of the suspects and the eventual bust on Thursday.

All the suspects arrested are currently in police custody, and an investigation is underway.

This massive drug bust highlights the extent of the illegal drug trade in India and the role of such criminal enterprises in exacerbating the drug abuse problem in the country. With law enforcement stepping up its efforts to curb such activities, those involved in such unlawful and dangerous trade will undoubtedly face the full force of the law.
