There will be stricter rules and much heftier fines for traffic violations in India's Telangana region, and the Hyderabad Traffic Police have launched an awareness campaign to educate the public about the changes. Since the implementation of the new Motor Vehicle Act has been announced, Hyderabad Traffic Police have adopted a proactive approach to spread awareness and education regarding the new traffic rules among the general public and different stakeholders, including commercial vehicle drivers.

Additional Commissioner of Traffic Police Anil Kumar said that they have held meetings and disseminated information about the new Motor Vehicle Act, highlighting the provisions and penalties via posters placed at major locations within the city. He noted that although people have expressed concern about the increased penalties, the new rules will ultimately benefit society in the long run.

He added that the new traffic rules have already produced a positive change in people's behavior, with a reduction in traffic violations and more people adhering to safety protocols by wearing helmets, stopping at stop lines, and obeying traffic signals. The department is optimistic that the changes will be more noticeable in the days to come. They are awaiting the go-ahead from the State Transport Department to put the new rules into effect.
