Renault India has announced that it will reduce the prices of its entire model range in India by up to 96,395 from September 22, 2025. The French automaker said the revised pricing will be effective on all deliveries made on or after September 22, which coincides with the first day of Navratri.
The company is yet to announce the exact price reduction for each model. Currently, Renault India offers five models in India the Renault Kiger, Renault Kwid, Renault Triber, Renault Duster, and Renault Captur.
Renault had previously cut the prices of its models in India by up to 2.5 lakh in January last year. This was when the Indian government slashed the customs duty on imported cars to 30 percent from what was previously 54 percent.
"This move is directed at making our products even more accessible and increasing penetration, thereby accelerating the growth trajectory of our India operations," Renault India CEO Franck Rouault said in a statement.
The price reduction could give a boost to Renault's sales in India, where it has struggled to establish itself against competitors like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, and Kia.
The move comes at a time when car prices are going up due to a hike in commodity prices and transport costs. Last week, Maruti Suzuki announced a price hike across its models from September 1, while Tata Motors had announced a price increase earlier this month.
Renault said it made the decision to pass on the benefits it received from heightened productivity and cost efficiencies onto customers. The automaker has also said it will secure additional benefits for customers through targeted offers and promotions, but has not given any specifics yet.
The announcement also comes on the heels of Renault partnering with IndusInd Bank to offer retail financing solutions for its customers.
While the effective date for the price reduction is September 22, Renault India has already started accepting bookings for its entire lineup without any advance payment.
