The 27th conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Andhra Pradesh has resolved to combat growing communalism in the state. The conference also called for resisting government policies that allocate public funds and assets to private corporations. It further emphasized strengthening the Party's independent base, essential for fostering Left unity. The conference was held in Nellore from February 1 to 3, 2025.
The inaugural session of the conference was chaired by MA Gafoor, Party Central Committee member. MA Baby and BV Raghavulu, members of the Polit Bureau, Central Secretariat member R Arun Kumar, CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna, and other CPI(M) Central Committee members were present on the dais. The conference also observed a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs.
V Srinivasa Rao presented the political-organisational report of the State Committee. He detailed the Party's efforts to implement the decisions of the 23rd Party Congress held in Kannur and the 26th state conference conducted in Tadepalli. He stressed the need to build a Left-democratic alternative and strengthen the Party's independent base. The conference adopted 39 resolutions on various issues concerning the people of the state.
The delegates were divided into groups, and 83 comrades representing various districts and mass fronts participated in the discussions. Almost all welcomed the self-critical and explanatory nature of the political-organisational report and agreed with its findings.
The conference concluded with a public rally organised from Atmakur Bus Stand to VR College Grounds, where a public meeting was held. Mula Ramesh, CPI(M) Nellore district secretary chaired the public meeting. Among those addressing the gathering was CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat, who criticized the anti-people central budget and decried the finance minister's assurances as hollow.
Before concluding the article, mention that a cultural festival was organized in conjunction with the conference, from January 27 to 29, in Nellore.
