With Hyderabad gearing up for Ganesh Visarjan, the police have upped their security measures, and traffic diversions have been put in place to manage the massive procession. The festival, marking the conclusion of the 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, will see over 25,000 police personnel deployed to ensure a smooth conduct.

Security has been beefed up in the city, especially after the August 20 bomb explosion in the city's Panjagutta area, which killed two and injured several others. The main procession route for Ganesh Visarjan is from Balapur Katta Maisamma Temple via Keshavagiri, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma Railway Bridge, Aliabad, Charminar, Afzalgunj, Abids, Basheerbagh, Liberty, Ambedkar Statue, NTR Marg, and PVNR Marg (Necklace Road).

The Hyderabad Traffic Police informed the public of traffic diversions on social media to prevent congestion and ensure a smooth flow of traffic. People who want to participate in the procession can park their vehicles at the NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, Public Gardens, Behind Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road), Adarsh Nagar Road (via Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan & GHMC Office Road, Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, and MMTS Khairatabad.

Given the high security, the Hyderabad Police appealed to the public to co-operate with them and help in monitoring any suspicious activities. The police also asked the general public to inform them immediately about any suspicious person or activity around them. Meanwhile, Amit Shah's scheduled visit to Hyderabad has added to the security arrangements for the Ganesh Visarjan procession. The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee had extended an invitation to the Union Home Minister to be the Chief Guest for the event.
