Hyderabad's Final Farewell to Lord Ganesh was Peaceful, Well-Managed, and Tech-Savvy

This year's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations saw a peaceful conclusion in Hyderabad, with the Ganesh idol immersion process progressing without any major incidents, assured the Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand. Anand briefed the media on the day's immersion progress and the police measures put in place at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

In the afternoon, the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh immersion was completed, while the Balapur Ganesh immersion concluded at 6.11 p.m. As per the police, the processions are being allowed to move in four lanes, and pushing parties have been positioned at crucial locations to quicken the pace. At Hussainsagar, 40 cranes have been stationed for immersion.

Technology has been a significant aid this year, with idols geo-tagged and information uploaded online. The TSCOP app has been updated with a feature enabling inspectors to track idols within their jurisdiction. Based on information from mandap organizers, vehicles are permitted only after ensuring no DJs or music bands.

The immersion has been closely monitored through the Command and Control Centre, with officials from various departments stationed. Finally, special attention was given to idols remaining in the South and East Zones. The Commissioner expressed confidence that the immersion would be completed by 8 a.m. on Sunday, with traffic restrictions relaxed accordingly.

This year's peaceful and well-managed conclusion to the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations is a positive reflection of the city and its authorities.

With tech-enabled solutions, coordinated efforts, and effective management, Hyderabad has set a standard for peaceful celebrations and eco-friendly immersion, leaving room for only hope and optimism for the future.
