RajCop Citizen: The App That's Crime Reporting Made Easier

"Just One Touch" Away From Safety: RajCop Citizen

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCBR), Rajasthan reports the third highest number of "crimes against women." The state has also gained notoriety for its high rate of rape cases, coming second only to Madhya Pradesh. In an effort to combat this and make reporting of crime easier for its citizens, the Rajasthan Police has upgraded the "RajCop Citizen" application, making it a one-touch away from seeking police assistance during emergencies. The application also allows users to effortlessly verify the credentials of domestic help and obtain details of a vehicle's owner in case of theft.

Rajasthan Minister of State for Home Gulabchand Kataria released a special poster on the application at the relaunch event, which highlighted its enhanced features. The app, developed under the jurisdiction of ADG (SCRB) Kapil Garg, is an initiative to ensure the safety and security of citizens by making crime reporting more accessible and efficient.

This groundbreaking application demonstrates the police's innovation in harnessing digital technology as a means of enhancing public safety and aiding vulnerable members of society, such as women who are victimized by rape or other forms of sexual violence. By leveraging the accessibility and portability of smartphones, the RajCop Citizen app has the potential to empower individuals to seek help swiftly and effectively in times of need, thereby bolstering women's safety and strengthening crime prevention and justice outcomes.
