An unexpected tragedy unfolded yesterday near the small town of Lakeville, in Minnesota, when a Robinson R66 helicopter crashed, claiming the lives of all aboard. The aircraft went down in a wooded area close to the Airlake Airport, shortly after noon, leaving no survivors. Authorities have identified the victims as Brendan Fehr, the actor best known for his role in the popular medical drama series ER, and his two children, a daughter, and a son.

According to the authorities, the helicopter crashed shortly after taking off from the airport, meant to be a part of a routine flight experience for Fehr's children. The crash resulted in a swift and devastating blaze, leaving first responders with no chance to save anyone aboard.

On the matter, Lakeville Police Chief Jim VanDorn stated, "It's a tragedy beyond description. Any time you have the loss of life it's a tragic incident, but to have three lives lost ... it's just extremely tragic."

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident. Fehr's representative has also released a statement, sharing that the actor's wife and their daughter were not on board the helicopter.
