With Hyderabad gearing up for Ganesh Visarjan, the authorities have tightened security and made traffic arrangements to ensure a safe celebration. With heightened security in the wake of the recent Maoist attack in the city, the police have also issued an advisory for the public with details of traffic diversions and parking spots.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the city on September 6, on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan, wherein he will participate in the procession as the Chief Guest.
As per the notice issued by the Hyderabad Traffic Police, the main procession route is from Balapur Katta Maisamma Temple to Keshavagiri, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma Rly Bridge, Aliabad, Charminar, Afzalgunj, Abids, Basheerbagh, Liberty, Ambedkar Statue, NTR Marg, and PVNR Marg (Necklace Road). The authorities have informed that no other traffic will be allowed on these main routes between 6 am on September 6 and 10 am on September 7.
People coming from other areas will not be permitted to proceed towards the procession route, and those residing along the route will not be allowed to park their vehicles on the road.
The traffic police have also listed out routes and junctions to be avoided during the procession, along with the spots where people can park their vehicles, which include NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, Public Gardens, Behind Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road), Adarsh Nagar Road (via Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan & GHMC Office Road, Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, and MMTS Khairatabad.
Approximately 25,000 police personnel have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the festival, The Siasat Daily reported.
Previous years' celebrations saw huge processions march on the streets with beautifully decorated idols of Lord Ganesha, accompanied by rhythmic drum beats and chants of 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' by the devotees, who danced and celebrated the 10-day festival. This year, the celebration comes amid heightened security in the city, keeping the police on their toes to ensure public safety.
The deployment of such a significant number of police personnel signifies the intention to ensure that the festival is carried out without any security concerns, and the city residents can celebrate the festival with safety and security.
With the authorities leaving no stone unturned to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the festival, the citizens are gearing up to participate in the procession and celebrate Ganesh Visarjan with great fervour and enthusiasm.
