In a recent press conference, the officers of Cyberabad's Cyber Crime Unit reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the public from online crime. They vowed to continue their tireless efforts to combat cybercrime and ensure the safety of all citizens in the Cyberabad area.
The press conference was attended by various members of the Cyberabad Police Force, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Vijayashankar Reddy, who highlighted some of the division's key achievements and initiatives in recent years.
DCP Reddy revealed that the Cyber Crime Unit has successfully resolved more than 95% of reported cybercrime cases in the region. He commended his team's dedication and expertise in tracking down cybercriminals and commended the officers for their successful efforts to mitigate online crimes in the region.
He also outlined some of the division's future plans, which include raising awareness of the issue among the public and training more professionals to ensure the division is well-equipped to deal with the growing number of cybercrime cases.
He emphasized that the unit is dedicated to staying ahead of cybercriminals and will employ the latest techniques and technologies to hold hackers and other criminals accountable.
Finally, Reddy also acknowledged the crucial role that members of the public play in reporting cybercrime. He urged anyone who believes they may have been a victim of cybercrime to report it to the police immediately, so that officers can take swift action to prevent others from becoming victims in the future.
As part of this renewed focus on public education, the Cyber Crime Unit has also created a number of public service announcements (PSAs) outlining the dangers of cybercrime and how ordinary citizens can protect themselves online.
These PSAs are set to start running on television and radio in the area starting this month, with plans to expand the campaign to other regions in the coming months.
With these efforts, the Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad are setting a new benchmark in proactive and responsive policing in the digital age.
