Zelenskyy's appeal came as US President Joe Biden signed a billion dollars' worth of military aid package, which includes, among other things, more precision bombs and missile systems. While Biden stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "counting on Western exhaustion, Western divide, Western resignation," it is clear that Putin is merely emboldened by Western sanctions, confident that the world is not doing enough to truly punish his regime's heinous actions.

Today, Zelenskyy urged tougher sanctions and trade restrictions against Russia. While some Western leaders are sending weapons, it is not enough. It's time to make significant economic sacrifices to pressure the Kremlin and support Ukraine.

Trump, meanwhile, signaled readiness for new sanctions. It is crucial that this sentiment translate into action and that Trump and other world leaders use their influence to take concrete actions that will have a meaningful impact on ending this war.
