Bomb threat triggers searches at Kerala CM's official residence, court complex

A bomb threat early this week triggered searches at the Kerala Chief Minister's official residence and Thiruvananthapuram District Court complex. The searches were conducted after a threat message was received via email addressed to the latter, referencing certain issues related to Tamil Nadu politics.

The sender, using the name Manoj Kumar, claimed that a device resembling a cooker laced with explosives was planted somewhere within the court complex. They further claimed that there were similar devices sent to the Chief Minister and Left Democratic Front (LDF) leader, Kerala Parliament Speaker, and Kerala Governor.

The state police said that they took the threat message seriously and initiated a search operation in and around the court complex. They added that they would not leave any stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of the people.

In a statement issued by the police department, it was stated that the accused would be brought to justice soon and strict action would be taken against them.

This comes as a shocking development amidst increasing concerns over political violence and threats in the state. It remains to be seen how the investigation unfolds and whether these threats will impact the peaceful atmosphere in Kerala.
