PM Internship Scheme Sees 1.25 Lakh Opportunities Listed by 250 Top Companies

The PM Internship Scheme has already seen 1.25 lakh internshipopportunities listed by 250 leading companies, according to sources. Thededicated portal for the scheme officially opened for candidate registrationsat 5 pm on October 12.

The pilot phase of the initiative had aimed to provide 1.25 lakhinternships, with placements set to begin on December 2.

Young individuals aged between 21 and 24 years are eligible toapply through the official portal: www.pminternship.mca.gov.in.

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 for a durationof 12 months, along with a one-time grant of Rs 6,000. The estimated initialcost for the pilot project is around Rs 800 crore.

Introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the UnionBudget 2024, the scheme aims to offer internship opportunities at India’s top500 companies, providing valuable work experience for the youth.
