India is set to miss Spin-bowling all-rounder, Washington Sundar at the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, and former player Mohammed Kaif feels India will feel his absence. The Asia Cup 2022 will be held in the UAE, starting on August 27, 2022, with the final scheduled for September 11, 2022.

Washington Sundar, who scored a crucial 62-runs against Australia in the semi-final of the recent T20 World Cup, has been included in India's list of players for the upcoming Test matches against Australia but has been left out of the Asia Cup 2022 squad. Speaking to ABP News, Mohammed Kaif said, "The team management told me that Washington Sundar will be playing the Test matches against Australia. He is unable to participate in the Asia Cup due to injury. Every tournament requires a different skill set, and I am hoping he will do well in Tests."

"But, yes, when it comes to the limited-overs format, he (Washington Sundar) has the ability to change the game with both his batting and bowling, and India will miss him (at Asia Cup 2022)," he added.
