headline RO Water Plants Inquiry Sought for Citizen Health Protection

Are you confident that your canned drinking water is safe? Citizens living in Nellore are questioning the safety of the drinking water they are buying after raising concerns that many reverse osmosis (RO) plants are filling cans with untreated water and selling them without any proper checks or audits.

Correspondingly, they challenge that each household solely relies on canned water for drinking purposes, which requires consistent monitoring of these plants to ensure public safety.

This message was conveyed by the citizens of Nellore to the municipal commissioner, appealing for frequent inspections of these plants. They also asked for information on any actions that have been taken so far against any unauthorized operators, as well as the number of plants that are licensed and certified.

The appeal also asked the commissioner to immediately investigate these alleged illegal plants to ensure that the water is safe for consumption to prevent any risks to the public's health.

Safe drinking water is a basic human right, and it is the responsibility of the municipal authorities to ensure that the drinking water supplied, whether canned or not, is safe for consumption.
