There's Trouble Brewing for Farmers in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh farmers find themselves in a predicament amid the anti-farmer policies of the state's governing party, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). YSR Congress Party district working president and MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy revealed this situation in a recent press conference.

Parvathareddy recalled the positive policies towards farmers implemented by the late Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajashekar Reddy and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, highlighting the profitable prospects for farmers during their tenures.

He accused the current government of exacerbating the difficulties farmers face with their problematic policies, including encouraging the black marketing of urea.

He emphasized the losses farmers are facing due to the unavailability of urea in the current peak season, estimated at Rs 20,000 per acre.

Parvathareddy urged farmers to join the YSRCP-led protest on September 9, regardless of their political affiliation.

The MLC's appeal underscores the troubling situation Andhra Pradesh's farmers find themselves in due to the inadequate governance of the TDP regime.
