The Hexagon Capability Center India (HCCI) will open an AI community centre in Hyderabad, India, in association with Nasscom. The center will provide free education on all AI topics from high school level and above.
Announcing the center, HCCI Vice-President and Country Manager Navaneet Mishra said that the center would host around 350 students per year across multiple batches. The center will focus on widening access to AI technology and offer resources and support to aspiring AI developers.
Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana IT Secretary, stated that 2020 would be celebrated as the 'Year of AI' in Telangana. He welcomed the community-focused AI initiative supported by Hexagon as a comprehensive contribution to the year-long event.
Claudio Simao, Group Chief Technology Officer, Hexagon AB, also affirmed that they would expand their presence in Hyderabad. In a recent Hexathon 24-hour hackathon, conducted by the company, Team Yodha from Malla Reddy Engineering College for Women, Hyderabad, was declared the winner for its smart voting system using blockchain. Four other teams were awarded distinctive ideas certificates.
