Who's responsible when bogus RO plants poison people with viral fevers? Corporators take action.

Nellore municipal corporators are taking action against bogus Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants after many viral fever cases were reported in the region. RO plants must have International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) certification to operate, but most of them are operating without certification and putting the public at serious risk.

Corporator Kartham Pratham Reddy of the 14th division (Balaji Nagar) declared war on bogus RO plants in the city, alleging that some RO water plant organizers supplied water collected from municipal taps, pumps, and more without purifying it. People are thus suffering from waterborne diseases. During the Public Grievance Redress System (PGRS), he urged Municipal Commissioner YO Nandan to act against bogus water plants through flash raids to safeguard public health.
